The Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo published an update on Governor Ahmet Ismaili’s bilateral meeting with International Finance Corporation (IFC) Vice President Alfonso García Mora during the 2026 Spring Meetings, held with the participation of Minister Hekuran Murati. The discussion focused on recent developments in Kosovo’s financial sector and continued cooperation on IFC-supported projects. The Central Bank highlighted ongoing work to advance the legal and regulatory framework to strengthen financial-sector resilience, broaden financial services, increase access to finance, and further financial inclusion, consumer protection, and related safeguards. The parties reviewed the IFC-backed Digitalization of Financial Services Project, noting progress on key activities in line with the action plan, and also discussed work to advance the regulatory framework for non-bank financial institutions, alongside broader technical assistance to support financial-sector development. García Mora welcomed the reforms and indicated readiness to expand cooperation, while both sides reaffirmed their commitment to continued close collaboration on existing projects and initiatives.
