The Argentina Securities Commission (CNV) took part in an Instituto Iberoamericano de Mercados de Valores (IIMV) seminar on measures to revitalise capital markets in Ibero-America, where CNV director Sonia Salvatierra delivered two presentations on initiatives to strengthen Argentina’s capital market and on the role of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). She underlined CNV work to promote market development through innovation and process simplification, with a focus on making SME access to financing easy, agile and transparent. The seminar was held in Guatemala from 31 March to 3 April and brought together executives and technical staff from securities market regulators and supervisors. Discussions covered regulatory updates and supervisory experience across 17 countries in Latin America and Spain, alongside EU developments in the regulation and implementation of market infrastructures based on Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT). Key themes included new financial instruments, reviews of issuer requirements, digital transformation, improvements to issuance registration processes, and steps to increase SME participation in securities markets.
