The Ghana National Insurance Commission, the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority and the Motor Traffic and Transport Department of the Ghana Police Service have strengthened cooperation to tackle fake vehicle registration and motor insurance documents and related road safety risks. The institutions agreed to develop practical measures to improve compliance, real-time data sharing and document verification, while protecting the integrity of Ghana’s vehicle registration system. The cooperation will address the integration and integrity of the institutions’ digital platforms, including related financial and technical considerations. They will also collaborate in prosecuting people involved in manufacturing and distributing fraudulent registration and insurance documents.

The Ghana National Insurance Commission, the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority and the police’s Motor Traffic and Transport Department are strengthening cooperation against fake vehicle registration and insurance documents. Planned measures include better real-time data sharing, verification and digital platform integration, alongside joint efforts to prosecute those producing or distributing fraudulent documents.
