The Palestine Capital Market Authority published details of an awareness lecture at Birzeit University titled Forex dealing principles and risks. The session focused on how the forex market operates, how the sector is regulated and supervised, and the risks of dealing with unlicensed entities. Authority officials outlined the supervisory framework applied to forex companies, market pricing and trading mechanics, and the importance of verifying that a provider is licensed by the authority. The presentations also covered common fraud methods in forex markets, early warning signs of fraudulent activity, risks linked to virtual currencies, the use of targeted social media advertising by unlicensed entities, measures the authority has put in place to protect traders, and the process for filing and following up complaints. The lecture was held with students and academic staff from Birzeit University under a memorandum of understanding between the authority and the university to deliver joint financial awareness activities and programmes.
