The Securities and Exchange Commission of Zimbabwe has published a vacancy notice for a chief executive officer to provide strategic leadership and executive management of the regulator. The role centers on executing board-approved strategy, overseeing operations and resources, maintaining corporate governance, risk management and compliance standards, and supporting the Commission’s financial sustainability and operational performance. The chief executive officer will also be expected to make capital markets policy recommendations to the government, review quarterly prudential and anti-money laundering combating the financing of terrorism and proliferation financing compliance reports, oversee budgeting and procurement, lead senior management and staff, and represent the Commission with the Ministry of Finance, Economic Development and Investment Promotion and external institutions including the African Development Bank and World Bank. The position is based in Harare, reports to the Board of Directors and Commissioners, and requires a bachelor’s degree, a master’s degree such as an MBA, at least 10 years of senior management experience including five years at executive level, and experience in capital markets.
