The Central Bank of Brunei Darussalam has updated its Alert List of persons that are not licensed, authorised or regulated by the central bank, adding Brunei Capital Financing and related aliases. The update is intended to warn the public against dealing with entities that may be presented as being regulated by the central bank when they are not. The newly listed entry is Brunei Capital Financing, identified with the aliases Capital Financing BN, Pinjaman Wang Brunei and Syarikat Loan Wang Trusted. The Alert List is available on the central bank’s website. The central bank also reiterated that the public should only deal with financial institutions licensed by it, noting that services such as money remittance, money changing, money lending and pawn broking require a licence, and that customers dealing with unlicensed or unregulated firms do not have the protection of its regulatory framework.
