The Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan has organised a training session for media representatives on “Open banking: basic concepts” as part of its ongoing efforts to raise knowledge and awareness of current central banking and financial sector topics. Around 20 journalists attended, with the session covering the concept of open banking, its role in the financial sector and its impact on the development of innovative financial services. The programme also addressed the planned directions for implementing an open banking approach domestically, the transition to an open finance model, the regulatory framework being developed and international practice, followed by discussions and a Q&A. The Central Bank reiterated that open banking is intended to support competition and innovation and to improve service accessibility, customer focus, transparency and efficiency, and that it will continue its financial literacy and public awareness initiatives.
