Lending to euro area credit institutions through monetary policy operations rose by EUR 1.413 billion, mainly through main refinancing operations, while securities held for monetary policy purposes declined by EUR 2.523 billion. On the liabilities side, euro area credit institutions shifted EUR 2.632 billion from current accounts to the deposit facility, where balances increased by EUR 2.866 billion. Liabilities to other euro area residents rose by EUR 6.216 billion, including a EUR 4.892 billion increase for general government, while euro-denominated liabilities to non-euro area residents fell by EUR 2.974 billion.
