The Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan held a monetary policy seminar attended by 150 professors and lecturers from 15 higher education institutions, providing an overview of the country’s monetary policy framework and a Q&A session. The seminar covered the development stages of Uzbekistan’s monetary policy, the 5 percent inflation target, the policy rate and the decision-making mechanism. It also explained the Central Bank’s current instrument set, including the policy rate, reserve requirements and Central Bank bonds, alongside their operating mechanisms, and discussed the role of monetary policy communication under an inflation targeting regime. Two seminar presentations were published: “Monetary Policy” and “Operational Mechanism of Monetary Policy”.
