The World Federation of Exchanges has published a practical guide for issuers on how to maximise their access to transition finance as sustainable capital increasingly targets credible decarbonisation pathways. Accessing Transition Finance: A Practical Guide for Issuers sets out the main forms of transition finance that are available and emerging, and offers guidance on which instruments may be most appropriate for different business models, including hard-to-abate industries and energy-intensive digital sectors. It notes that transition finance is currently centred on debt offerings, while transition-related equity offerings such as designations are expected to start emerging. The guide also highlights steps issuers can take to improve eligibility, including building a credible strategic transition plan, using key global standards and initiatives, selecting an appropriate instrument, and considering evidence and assurance. The WFE will host a webinar on 9 March 2026 to introduce the guide, with speakers including Nasdaq and the UK Transition Finance Council.
