The National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic reported that it held an awards ceremony marking the Kyrgyz Republic’s Banking Worker Day, recognizing National Bank employees, representatives of the banking and payment sector, and members of interagency and working groups who contributed to the creation of the ELQR system. At the ceremony, the central bank highlighted the rollout of the national QR code standard and the ELQR system as a key stage in the digital transformation of the country’s financial sector. It said joint work by state bodies, the National Bank, the banking community and technical specialists had created a modern intersystem infrastructure for QR payments in the Kyrgyz Republic. Awards were presented for professionalism, long service and contributions to the development of digital financial technologies.
