The Thailand Office of Insurance Commission (OIC) reported that its Secretary-General, Chuchat Pramoolpol, led a senior delegation to participate in the 2025 NAIC International Insurance Forum in Washington, DC, and held high-level discussions with the President of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) and the California Department of Insurance. The forum, hosted annually by the NAIC, took place on 29–30 May 2025 under the theme “Stronger, Smarter, and More Resilient Together” and brought together representatives from all 56 US insurance jurisdictions as well as international bodies including the International Association of Insurance Supervisors, the International Monetary Fund and the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority. OIC’s participation covered supervisory issues linked to macroeconomic change, risk management and proactive regulatory frameworks, with sessions on the 2025 insurance outlook, structural changes in life insurance, alternative investments, the role of emerging markets, ageing-related risks and climate volatility. Bilateral discussions with NAIC President Jon Godfread and California Insurance Commissioner Ricardo Lara addressed catastrophe insurance, health insurance, supervisory development and risk-based capital.
