Peru's Superintendency of Banking, Insurance and Private Pension Funds has published a draft amendment to its accounting manual that would require financial system entities to publish their audited annual financial statements, audit opinion, annual report and quarterly financial statements on their websites. The proposal would also apply to Banco de la Nación, Banco Agropecuario, the Development Finance Corporation (Cofide), Fondo Mivivienda and electronic money issuers. For derramas, the audited year-end financial statements and the external auditor’s report would need to be published jointly on the entity’s website on a permanent basis, within seven business days after approval by the relevant highest body. The draft also sets deadlines for annual reports: financial system entities would need board approval and submission to the SBS within 10 business days after approval, with a hard deadline of 31 March; derramas would need to publish their annual report within 10 business days after approval, permanently. Private pension fund administrators (AFPs) would have 15 days after approval to file and publish their annual report, and would also have to publish audited year-end financial statements and the auditor’s report permanently; the draft includes proposed minimum content for annual reports of financial system entities and AFPs. Comments and suggestions are invited until 21 February 2025 via the SBS website.
