The Bank of the Lao PDR, working with the Ministry of Home Affairs, has opened Batch III of a “State administration for mid-level managers” training course for central bank staff at the Banking Institute. The programme is designed to strengthen mid-level managers’ ability to apply state policy, laws and strategic plans in their management roles. The 10-day course runs from 26 May to 6 June 2025 and has 35 participants drawn from departments across the Bank of the Lao PDR, with more than 40 representatives attending the opening session led by Ms Phoummaly Siriphondet, Deputy Head of the Organisation and Personnel Department. Training covers civil service management, performance evaluation, public administration, leadership and management, change management, staff training and development, civil service ethics, official document drafting, and planning and project management, alongside exchanges with instructors from relevant ministries and study visits to the National Institute of Politics and Public Administration and selected state-owned enterprises.
