The Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo reported that Governor Ahmet Ismaili held an official meeting at the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA) headquarters in Frankfurt with Chair Petra Hielkema, focusing on recent developments in insurance and pensions and on closer supervisory cooperation. Ismaili briefed EIOPA on developments in Kosovo’s financial sector, including its legal and regulatory framework and the central bank’s reform agenda aimed at aligning the system with the European Union. Discussions covered capacity-building support, stronger bilateral and multilateral cooperation, and further harmonisation of insurance and pension regulation, with both sides agreeing to continue technical and professional engagement that also covers financial stability, financial education and consumer protection practices.
