The State Bank of Vietnam has announced new leadership appointments in its International Cooperation Department, assigning Vu Minh Chau to serve as Acting Director General and appointing Tran Quang Tien as Deputy Director General. The Governor’s decisions dated 20 October 2025 take effect from 21 October 2025. Chau previously served as Deputy Director General of the International Cooperation Department, while Tien was head of the Division for International Development Banks. At the appointment ceremony, Deputy Governor Nguyen Ngoc Canh also set priorities for the department, including maintaining and expanding cooperation with international financial and monetary institutions, monetary authorities and central banks, mobilising financial and technical resources and policy advice for Vietnam, and strengthening participation in multilateral cooperation forums and banking-related free trade agreement work.
