The French Financial Markets Authority published mediation figures showing a record 3,010 referrals in 2025, up 37% from 2024, while cases processed and closed rose 41% to 2,772. Activity remained elevated in the first half of 2026, with referrals increasing 31% year over year to 1,865 and closed cases rising 14% to 1,525. The mediator issued 888 proposed solutions in 2025, 92% of which were accepted by both parties. Equity savings plans remained the leading source of disputes, with closed cases rising nearly 150% to 462, almost three quarters of them involving transfer difficulties following increased demand linked to new market entrants. Employee savings cases rose 46% to 252. The increase in real estate investment company disputes seen in 2024 continued, driven mainly by longer withdrawal times and challenges to investment advice, while crowdfunding cases jumped from eight to 93 as lengthy negotiations begun in 2024 concluded. Crypto asset referrals increased 38%, but only about one third fell within the mediator’s remit, with most inadmissible cases involving suspected fraud or matters assigned to another mediator.
