Finance ministers recognized the European banking sector’s resilience but called for sustained improvements in competitiveness and further administrative simplification. Ministers and central bank governors also discussed financial innovation as a driver of European growth and competitiveness, as well as the implications of artificial intelligence for the economy and financial sector. Participants emphasized that Europe should develop AI that supports human judgment rather than replaces it. Roth called for an environment that enables new technologies and financial innovation to develop in Europe and Luxembourg.
