The European Banking Authority has updated its EU list of other systemically important institutions, based on notifications received from national authorities during 2025. The update identifies 172 O-SIIs at the highest level of consolidation in each country, with the overall number remaining broadly stable compared with 2024. The published list sets out each identified institution's systemic importance score under the EBA methodology and the capital buffer rate set by the relevant authority, with buffers ranging from 0.25% to 3%. Assessment and designation remain with national competent or designated authorities under harmonised EBA Guidelines, using criteria that include size, importance for the economy, cross-border activity and interconnectedness, while allowing supervisory judgement to capture additional institutions where needed. The information is also available through the EBA's visualisation tool.
