The Central Bank of the UAE announced the appointment of Faiza Al Awadhi as Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Sanadak, the Ombudsman Unit described as the first of its kind in the Middle East and North Africa. Al Awadhi has more than 25 years of experience across the public and private sectors, including leading the Market Conduct and Financial Consumer Protection Department and holding senior roles spanning planning and operational support, service quality and corporate communications, and branch operations. She has served on Sanadak’s board since its establishment and has chaired or participated in multiple consumer protection and financial inclusion forums, including the UAE Banks Federation’s Financial Consumer Protection Taskforce, the Arab Monetary Fund’s Financial Inclusion Working Group, the G20 Global Partnership for Financial Inclusion, and the International Financial Consumer Protection Organisation (FinCoNet). The Central Bank positioned the appointment as supporting Sanadak’s role in fair and impartial resolution of banking and insurance disputes and aligning with its consumer protection and financial inclusion strategy.
