The European Central Bank reported total assets and liabilities of EUR 5.911 trillion as of Sept. 11, 2026, a weekly decline of EUR 942 million due to transactions. Monetary policy lending to euro area credit institutions fell by EUR 1.567 billion to EUR 26.610 billion, while securities held for monetary policy purposes decreased by EUR 1.647 billion to EUR 3.359 trillion. On the liabilities side, deposit facility balances declined by EUR 42.445 billion to EUR 1.963 trillion, partly offset by a EUR 20.845 billion increase in current accounts to EUR 349.024 billion. Euro-denominated liabilities to non-euro area residents rose by EUR 14.994 billion, while liabilities to other euro area residents increased by EUR 5.960 billion.
