The Central Bank of Chile announced it will make new regional export series available to the public, providing quarterly and annual figures by region from 23 April. The initiative is positioned as part of its ongoing work to expand available statistical information and improve the regional coverage of National Accounts statistics. The new regional export series will follow Chile’s current political-administrative division of sixteen regions and will be incorporated into the regular Regional GDP (PIBR) publications released on the 23rd (or the next business day) of April, June, September and December. Quarterly data will be published as chain-linked series for goods exports, while annual data will be published as chain-linked and current-price series for goods and services exports, including a breakdown of goods exports into agriculture-forestry-fishing, mining and industry, alongside services exports.
