The Financial Superintendence of Colombia published a profile of the financial superintendent, highlighting nearly 15 years of experience in prudential supervision, bank resolution, depositor protection and financial stability. The profile emphasizes almost eight years at the Bank of England’s Prudential Regulation Authority, including supervision of systemically important institutions, work on international bank resolution and coordination with the United Kingdom’s deposit insurer. The superintendent served as the principal resolution contact for Silicon Valley Bank UK and as an adviser during the Credit Suisse contingency. Previous roles at the Colombian authority from 2012 to 2017 included oversight of credit institutions, monitoring firms under stress and coordinating Colombia’s response to the International Monetary Fund and World Bank Financial Sector Assessment Program.
