At the second annual forum of member brokerage firms organized by the Amman Stock Exchange, the Jordan Securities Commission set out the main themes shaping its current capital markets agenda. In remarks at the event, Chairman Imad Abu Haltam said the discussions focused on regulatory, legislative and technological developments intended to support a safe, fair and transparent trading environment, strengthen investor protection and improve market efficiency, with customer data protection highlighted against rising cyber threats. The forum also covered sustainability, including the integration of environmental, social and governance standards into listed companies and financial services firms, the promotion of sustainable finance practices, and innovation and value creation linked to sustainability. A third strand reviewed market performance indicators, growth trends and development opportunities in the face of economic challenges. Abu Haltam said the discussions and proposals from the forum would help shape a shared vision for developing Jordan's capital market and improving its regional and international competitiveness.
