The Central Bank of Iraq announced that the Arab Federation for Digital Empowerment (AFDMC) delivered a specialised workshop for bank employees on the scientific design of secure systems, aimed at strengthening security awareness and building professional cybersecurity capabilities. The workshop covered practical approaches to secure system design, including threat modelling methodologies and cyber risk analysis mechanisms, and explained how to apply Zero Trust architecture principles in line with current practices and international standards for protecting digital systems. It also used realistic models and modern methods to help staff better understand evolving security challenges and improve their ability to build a more secure and resilient digital environment against cyberattacks, alongside the bank’s wider focus on skills development, data protection and safeguarding banking systems during rapid digital transformation.
