The Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan hosted a meeting with the leadership of Germany's Development Bank (KfW) and its subsidiary companies focused on expanding financial inclusion in Uzbekistan, supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and ongoing banking sector reforms. Discussions covered work underway to improve existing infrastructure in cooperation with banks to create more favorable opportunities for SMEs, as well as the Central Bank’s readiness to coordinate with international financial institutions on supporting small and medium-sized businesses. The parties agreed to continue dialogue to expand bilateral cooperation and support initiatives aimed at enhancing financial inclusion.
