The World Bank Group approved USD 750 million for the Türkiye Agrifood Sector Transformation for Rural Jobs and Growth Project, which will expand financing for farmers, producer organizations and agrifood enterprises. By 2032, the project is expected to benefit about 225,000 farmers, generate 110,000 additional and better paid jobs and mobilize USD 670 million in private capital. The package comprises a USD 720 million reimbursable finance facility for long term investments in value chains, climate resilience, food safety and market access, and a USD 30 million partial credit guarantee to reduce risks for banks lending to farmers. These instruments are expected to attract USD 144 million in private cofinancing and about USD 526 million in commercial lending. Türkiye’s Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry will implement the project through the Agriculture and Rural Development Support Institution, with the International Finance Corporation providing complementary advisory support and investments.
