Turkmenistan’s Ministry of Finance and Economy and Ministry of Foreign Affairs convened an investment forum bringing together more than 700 government, financial institution and corporate representatives. The event presented investment opportunities across energy, industry, transport, communications, agriculture and digital infrastructure, while state entities and private companies signed several agreements with foreign partners. Officials reported annual gross domestic product growth of 6.3% and projected capital investment exceeding TMT 41.2 billion in 2026, largely for new and modernized production and social facilities. The government identified foreign investment in technology, equipment, human capital and environmental and social infrastructure as strategic priorities, with particular emphasis on construction, transport, information technology and telecommunications. Discussions also covered energy diversification, cleaner production, logistics corridors, public-private partnerships, climate-resilient agriculture and the expansion of higher value-added exports. The agreements included cooperation on rail infrastructure, water management, chemicals, oil, and a 2026-2036 partnership covering shipbuilding, ship repair, maritime technology and local production. The forum’s remaining sessions cover economic diversification, cooperation with international financial institutions, virtual asset regulation, mining technologies, financial technology, digital and green transformation, and the legal regulation of investment.
