The Indonesia Financial Services Authority has outlined three priorities it is preparing for the 2026 development of Islamic financial literacy and inclusion, in a press release covering the first 2026 meeting of its Working Group on Islamic Financial Literacy and Inclusion. The priorities are to build a data-based strategy that reflects digitalization and public needs, integrate literacy and inclusion work with market conduct, consumer protection and financial health, and strengthen coordination across stakeholders so that discussions lead to concrete follow-up actions and wider use of Islamic financial products. In remarks at the meeting, OJK described the working group as a strategic partner rather than only a coordination forum, with a role in aligning ideas, mobilizing action and improving both public understanding and participation in Islamic finance. OJK said the group, established in 2024, has already contributed recommendations and evaluations to refine education and inclusion programs, new initiatives and policy direction. It also said current efforts still need improvement in reach, program continuity and the conversion of public understanding into actual use of Islamic financial products.

The Indonesia Financial Services Authority said its 2026 Islamic financial literacy and inclusion agenda will focus on three areas: a data-based and digital strategy, integration with market conduct and consumer protection, and stronger cross-stakeholder coordination. In the same update, OJK said programs still need broader reach, greater continuity and better conversion from awareness into use of Islamic financial products.
