The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan published an update on corporate registrations, reporting 2,757 new companies registered in March 2025 and bringing the total number of registered companies to 249,365. Around 99.9% of new registrations were processed digitally. Private limited companies accounted for 54% of new registrations and single-member companies for 40%, with the remaining 6% comprising public unlisted companies, not-for-profit organizations, trade organizations and limited liability partnerships. By sector, the largest additions were in Information Technology and e-commerce (552), trading (350), services (313) and real estate development and construction (256), followed by tourism and transport (161), food and beverages (147), education (127) and corporate agricultural farming (124). The release also reported 73 newly registered companies receiving capital from foreign investors, including from Australia, China, Hong Kong, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lebanon, Malaysia, Norway, Singapore, Spain, Vietnam and Yemen.
