Indonesia's Financial Services Authority (OJK) facilitated a meeting at its Jakarta office between PT Dana Syariah Indonesia (DSI), an online lending (pindar) operator, and lender representatives following consumer complaints about delays in returning funds and paying returns. OJK required DSI to explain the issues and to take responsibility for lender funds still held at DSI, while DSI committed to settle its repayment obligations in stages based on its capacity under a resolution plan to be developed with lender representatives. OJK reiterated that it has applied a Business Activity Restriction (Pembatasan Kegiatan Usaha, PKU) to DSI since 15 October 2025, prohibiting the firm from raising new funds from lenders or extending new financing to borrowers through any channel. The restrictions also bar DSI from transferring or otherwise disposing of assets without OJK's written approval, limit changes to the recorded composition of directors, commissioners, Sharia Supervisory Board and shareholders, and require the firm to keep offices and services open while maintaining active complaint channels and resolving complaints in accordance with applicable rules. For ongoing supervision, OJK is collecting information and tracing parties suspected of involvement and responsibility and will coordinate with law enforcement if it finds regulatory breaches or indications of criminal offences, including through a reassessment of key parties (Penilaian Kembali Pihak Utama, PKPU). OJK also instructed DSI to prioritise lender repayments, maintain transparent communication and follow up complaints in a timely manner.
