Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Finance reported that Gulf Cooperation Council finance ministers adopted the periodic report monitoring progress on the Gulf Common Market at their 126th Financial and Economic Cooperation Committee meeting. The ministers also reviewed progress on the GCC Customs Union and discussed regional developments, their potential effects on member states and joint coordination in response. Saudi Finance Minister Mohammed Aljadaan also joined GCC finance ministers and central bank governors for a meeting with International Monetary Fund Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva. Participants discussed the region’s economic outlook and policy challenges, focusing on strengthening resilience to geopolitical shocks.
