The Chile Financial Market Commission (CMF) published updated biannual statistics on insured motor vehicle repair times, using insurer reporting required under Circular Letter No. 2,236. For July to December 2025, the average time from filing a claim to the vehicle being available for pickup was 52.3 days, continuing the downward trend that began in 2023, while the average time from claim filing to the vehicle entering a workshop was 29 days. CMF also refreshed its public web platform that lets users compare repair times by insurer, vehicle brand and model, insured region and workshop type, with supporting data on claims volumes, damage severity and participating workshops. The release records 89,084 insured vehicles involved in accidents in the first half of 2025, up 7.72% from the prior half, and 2,227,842 vehicles with current insurance coverage by the end of 2025; insurers reported 4,705 workshop agreements in the second half, with 32.71% in the Metropolitan Region, noting that workshops may serve multiple insurers so counts reflect agreements rather than unique establishments.
