The National Bank of Bulgaria’s Governing Council decided to withdraw from circulation the commemorative coins issued in 2019. The coins will cease to be legal tender from 3 February 2025. From that date, the 2019 commemorative coins can be exchanged at the cash desks of the National Bank of Bulgaria at face value, in unlimited quantities and free of charge, with an exchange period running until 31 December 2026.

National Bank of Bulgaria withdraws 2019 commemorative coins from circulation effective 3 February 2025
The National Bank of Bulgaria will withdraw the 2019 commemorative coins from circulation, ceasing their status as legal tender from 3 February 2025. These coins can be exchanged at the bank's cash desks at face value until 31 December 2026.
