The Agency for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market of the Republic of Kazakhstan issued a reminder on the simplified “Europrotocol” procedure for filing compulsory auto insurance claims after a road traffic accident, allowing drivers to submit an insurance payment application directly to the insurer at the scene without calling traffic police or going to court. Claims can be submitted via the Europrotocol, DTP.kz or Halyk Kazakhstan mobile apps, as well as through insurers’ official websites, by completing identification and declarations and uploading photos and videos from the accident scene. Europrotocol can be used only when two vehicles are involved, both drivers have valid insurance, the damage does not exceed 100 AEK, and there is no disagreement about the party at fault; it also requires no harm to life or health and no damage to third-party property. Drivers should not leave the scene until they receive confirmation that the insurer has accepted the declaration, after which they may depart; since launch, around 25,000 cases totalling KZT 4.9 billion had been processed as of 1 January 2026, and the agency noted the mechanism can shorten payout timelines while reducing pressure on road infrastructure and the court system.
