The Vietnam State Securities Commission said it held a conference in Hanoi with the Ministry of Public Security's Department of Cybersecurity and Hi-tech Crime Prevention to warn and guide securities-sector entities on cybersecurity. The discussion centered on cyberattack risks affecting securities market information systems and on coordination mechanisms for early warning, detection, incident handling and information sharing under the legal framework. The conference brought together the regulator, the specialist cybersecurity authorities and market participants including exchanges, the Vietnam Securities Depository and Clearing Corporation, securities firms and fund management companies. Presentations from the police cyber unit covered the Cybersecurity Law, the 2025 Personal Data Protection Law, common attack methods and warning signs, illustrative cases, legal and operational elements of cybersecurity control, and cybersecurity monitoring systems. The commission's technology and digital transformation unit and several securities firms also shared implementation experience, operational challenges and proposals to strengthen system safety monitoring, alerts and incident response. In closing, the commission called on market members to strengthen cybersecurity arrangements by upgrading systems, reviewing internal processes and rules, maintaining response scenarios, training staff and helping improve investor awareness of information security and personal data protection online. It also sought continued coordination with the police cyber unit as digitalization increases the sector's exposure to cyber threats.
