Thailand’s Office of Insurance Commission hosted faculty and international logistics management students from Silpakorn University on Oct. 21, 2026, for a study visit on insurance in logistics and international trade. The sessions covered insurance as a tool for managing and transferring business risks, alongside procedures for protecting insurance rights and resolving disputes. The briefing addressed transport risks, including cargo damage or loss and delays, as well as disruptions from international conflict and cyber threats. It emphasized selecting coverage appropriate to business risks and understanding policy conditions and exclusions. Participants also examined insurance claims and dispute resolution through a practical case study workshop. The visit covered mediation by officials and mediators, as well as arbitration, and included tours of the commission’s mediation and arbitration centers.
