The European Central Bank published balance sheet data showing total assets and total liabilities at EUR 6,185,235 million, down EUR 10,766 million from the previous week due to transactions. The main asset-side moves were a EUR 6,750 million fall in lending to euro area credit institutions related to monetary policy operations, to EUR 25,631 million, and a EUR 1,299 million decline in securities of euro area residents denominated in euro, to EUR 3,855,566 million. On the liabilities side, liabilities to euro area credit institutions related to monetary policy operations fell by EUR 3,497 million to EUR 2,422,357 million. Current accounts covering the minimum reserve system decreased by EUR 14,131 million to EUR 180,216 million, while use of the deposit facility rose by EUR 10,635 million to EUR 2,242,140 million. Other notable weekly changes included a EUR 1,508 million increase in claims on non-euro area residents denominated in foreign currency to EUR 515,738 million and a EUR 4,727 million decline in liabilities to other euro area residents denominated in euro to EUR 210,862 million.

European Central Bank reports weekly balance sheet down EUR 10.8 billion to EUR 6.19 trillion
The European Central Bank reported that its total assets and liabilities declined by EUR 10,766 million week-on-week to EUR 6,185,235 million, mainly reflecting lower lending to euro area credit institutions and reduced euro-denominated securities of euro area residents. On the liabilities side, monetary policy-related liabilities to euro area credit institutions and current accounts under the minimum reserve system decreased, while use of the deposit facility increased, alongside higher foreign-currency claims on non-euro area residents and lower euro-denominated liabilities to other euro area residents.
