The Qatar Financial Centre has announced that Franklin Templeton is expanding in the Middle East by establishing Franklin Templeton Investments QFC LLC in Qatar. Following initial authorisation from the QFC Regulatory Authority, the firm will open a local office within the QFC, giving the global asset manager an onshore presence in Qatar's institutional investment market. Franklin Templeton had USD 1.78 trillion in assets under management as of May 31, 2026, serves clients in more than 150 countries and has operated in the Middle East for more than 25 years. The Qatar expansion builds on its existing partnership with the Qatar Investment Authority, including the previously announced Franklin Templeton Qatar Equity Fund launched under QIA's active asset management initiative. Salah Shamma has been appointed senior executive officer and country head of Franklin Templeton Investments QFC LLC, alongside his existing responsibilities, to lead the firm's strategy in Qatar.
