The Bank of Finland has appointed Aleksi Grym as Head of Department for its Payment Systems Department. The appointment is for a five-year term effective from 1 March 2026. Grym has led the Fintech Division within the Payment Systems Department since 2023 and has held specialist roles at the Bank of Finland since 2016, including as Principal Adviser, after earlier international expert and managerial positions in the private sector. The Payment Systems Department provides central bank services for cash supply and is responsible for reliable and efficient payments, payment and settlement system infrastructure and its development, as well as preparing the Bank of Finland’s payment systems policy and analysing payments technologies.
