The National Bank of Moldova reported that Governor Anca Dragu and Deputy Governor Tatiana Ivanicichina took part in the World Bank’s “Women Lead” event in Washington, D.C., held alongside the World Bank Group and International Monetary Fund Annual Meetings on 13–18 October 2025. The central bank framed the participation as part of its work to promote women’s leadership and equal opportunities in Moldova’s financial sector. The event focused on women’s employment initiatives, female leadership, management of resources and assets, and cooperation between the public sector, business and civil society to reduce gender gaps in the economy. The National Bank of Moldova highlighted its “FinanciarELE – Women’s Leadership Community”, launched in March 2025 to provide mentoring, training and professional networking, and noted that the National Financial Inclusion Strategy being developed with World Bank support emphasises widening access for vulnerable groups, including women, to modern and safe financial services. The release also referenced the World Economic Forum’s Global Gender Gap Report 2025, which placed Moldova seventh globally with an 81.3% parity score, up 2.3 points from the prior year.
