The Brazil Securities Commission (CVM) hosted the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) Secondary Markets Regulation Committee (Committee 2) meeting in Rio de Janeiro on 25 and 26 June, bringing together members to discuss recent developments in global capital market structures and financial market infrastructure that affect the effectiveness and integrity of markets. CVM’s representative on Committee 2, Margareth Noda, presented Brazilian practices and supervisory experience in the context of increasing market internationalisation, with CVM’s International Relations Management also participating. Committee 2 is chaired by CONSOB’s Martina Tambucci and vice-chaired by the Saudi Capital Market Authority’s Saeed Juraybi, and comprises 32 member jurisdictions plus the European Union as observer. CVM also announced it will again host an IOSCO international meeting in Rio de Janeiro on 10 and 11 September, when the IOSCO Committee on Emerging Risks will convene.
