The Malta Financial Services Authority and the Malta Gaming Authority have signed a Memorandum of Understanding setting a framework for closer collaboration across areas of mutual regulatory interest. The agreement is intended to support information sharing and cooperation on due diligence and enforcement where the two authorities face regulatory overlap. The MoU sits alongside an existing multi-party MoU involving the Sanctions Monitoring Board and the Financial Intelligence Analysis Unit, which remains in force for cooperation on anti-money laundering, counter-terrorist financing and proliferation financing. The new bilateral arrangement is designed to govern the broader relationship between the MFSA and the MGA and includes provisions on training and education to upskill supervisors and strengthen institutional competencies.
