Indonesia’s Financial Services Authority has confirmed that Sarjito has taken office as executive head of supervision for the Mineral and Strategic Commodities Exchange and as a member of its Board of Commissioners for 2026-2031. The appointment follows the expansion of the authority’s mandate to regulate and supervise an integrated market for mineral and strategic commodity trading, including derivatives. The authority is preparing separate draft regulations covering the transition to its supervision and the exchange’s operation. It has also allocated staff and funding to the new function and aims for the exchange to begin operating on Jan. 1, 2027. The exchange is intended to establish Indonesian reference prices, support domestic processing and industrialization, and strengthen market integrity.
