The Central Bank of Russia has begun publishing quarterly statistics on small and medium sized enterprises raising equity through investment platforms, providing a new measure of crowdfunding market activity and development. In the first half of 2026, 61 companies entered the equity market, while the number of issuers fell 9% from a year earlier. Businesses raised RUB 2.1 billion through share offerings, down 45% and equivalent to 13% of all funds raised by SMEs on investment platforms. More than half of the investment went to information technology and computer services companies, while offerings were concentrated in Moscow, St. Petersburg, the Krasnodar Territory and the Smolensk Region.
