The Brazilian Superintendence of Private Insurance (SUSEP) issued Resolution SUSEP No. 50/2025 establishing a Data Governance Policy (PGDados) for the authority, setting a framework for the responsible and strategic use of information under its control. The policy defines principles, governance structures, roles and responsibilities for data management, with a focus on integrity, quality, confidentiality and availability. PGDados applies to all data generated, collected, stored, processed or used in infrastructure controlled by SUSEP and to all user profiles involved in handling institutional data, including staff, managers, interns, service providers and other collaborators. The principles include transparency, compliance with applicable law such as Brazil’s General Data Protection Law (LGPD), and the adoption of information security and governance best practices, with SUSEP linking the framework to more reliable data-driven decision-making and greater efficiency and transparency in its regulatory activities.
