The Philippines Insurance Commission reported continued growth in the pre-need industry in the second quarter of 2026, with total assets rising 8.87% year over year to PHP 183.30 billion. Total net worth increased 12.84% to PHP 35.64 billion, while premium income grew 11.43% to PHP 12.80 billion. However, net income fell 52.89%, primarily because of lower investment income amid external factors affecting financial markets. Investments in trust funds increased 8.50% to PHP 157.98 billion and represented 86.19% of total assets. Liabilities rose 7.96% to PHP 147.66 billion, largely because of higher pre-need reserves, while capital stock and retained earnings supported the increase in net worth. The industry sold 466,834 plans in the first half of 2026, nearly 10% more than a year earlier, with life plans accounting for 99.91% of sales.
