Bank Negara Malaysia has reappointed Datuk Yogeesvaran Kumaraguru as an external member of the Monetary Policy Committee for a three-year term effective Sept. 1, 2026. The committee is responsible for formulating monetary policy and deciding policies for the conduct of monetary policy operations. Kumaraguru has served as an external member since Sept. 1, 2024. His experience includes 27 years at the Economic Planning Unit, service as secretary general of the Ministry of Plantation Industries and Commodities, and economic consulting work for the World Bank and United Nations.
