The Central Bank of Eswatini announced that Mukuru Financial Services (Pty) Limited, a CBE-regulated provider commonly known as Mukuru, plans to cease operations on 30 June 2025 and will undertake a voluntary business wind-down under the Bank’s supervision. The wind-down is intended to be orderly and to meet regulatory requirements while protecting customers and stakeholders. Customers were instructed to submit claims for inward payments in person at Mukuru’s Manzini or Mbabane branches before 30 June 2025, and any pending payments into Eswatini or outward to other countries will not be processed after that date. Pending transactions and obligations are expected to be honoured during the transition period, with queries handled through Mukuru outlets and direct communications to customers and counterparties. The Central Bank of Eswatini said further updates will be provided as necessary.
