The Central Bank of Algeria published an account of a high-level meeting between Governor Mohammed Lamine LEBBOU and the heads of all commercial banks, focused on the recent performance of the banking system, monetary policy measures and priorities for modernizing the sector. The main message was a push to speed up financial inclusion, especially through digital transformation and the modernization of payment systems and instruments. The central bank said sector indicators show stronger resource collection and continued financing of the economy. It also outlined recently implemented monetary policy measures aimed at preserving price stability while maintaining financing conditions that support national production and financial stability. In the meeting, commercial banks were urged to diversify their products, improve the quality of local customer services and widen access to financial services for citizens and businesses across the country.
